Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Wonderbud Studio LLC ("Little Roots," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you and your child use the Little Roots allowance app and this website (together, the "Service"). Little Roots is designed for families, and protecting children's privacy is central to how we built it.
1. Who this policy is for
Little Roots accounts are created and managed by a parent or legal guardian ("Parent"). Children use the app under their Parent's supervision and account. We direct this policy primarily to Parents, who consent on behalf of their children.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what is needed to operate and improve the Service:
- Parent account information — email address and a securely hashed password.
- Child profile information — the child's first name (or a nickname you choose) and the settings you configure, such as weekly allowance and interest rate.
- Savings activity — account balances, savings goals, and transaction history (deposits, withdrawals, allowance, and interest) within the app.
- Technical data — an authentication token and limited identifiers stored on your device to keep you signed in and to sync your data.
- Usage and error data - information about how the app is used and any errors that occur. This information is never shared with third parties.
- Email preferences — whether you have chosen to receive optional emails from us, and when and where (at sign-up or in Settings) you made or changed that choice, so we can honor it and show that we did.
We do not require a child's last name, photo, precise location, or contact information to use Little Roots.
3. How we use information
We use the information above solely to provide and maintain the Service — to create and secure accounts, calculate allowances and interest, display goals and history, send essential account emails (such as password resets), and provide customer support. If you opt in, we also use your email address to send the optional emails described in section 4. We never use your child's information for advertising, and Little Roots shows no ads.
4. Emails we send
We send two kinds of email, and only ever to the Parent's email address. We never email children.
- Essential account emails — messages you need to use the Service, such as password-reset codes. These are sent regardless of your email preference.
- Optional emails — news about Little Roots and our other products, tips, special offers, and summaries of your family's activity in the app. We send these only if you opt in. The sign-up box starts unticked, and you can turn these emails on or off at any time under Settings → Emails in the app, or by contacting us. Every optional email will include a link to unsubscribe.
Your email address is never sold, rented, or given to anyone else to market to you.
5. We do not sell or share your data
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information. We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing, and Little Roots contains no third-party advertising or behavioral-tracking SDKs. We share information only with the service providers that help us run Little Roots (for example, our hosting and email-delivery providers, app store purchase integrations), and only to the extent needed to operate the Service.
6. Children's privacy (COPPA)
Little Roots is intended to be used by children under the direction and control of a Parent, consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):
- A Parent creates the account and provides verifiable consent for the limited child information described above.
- A Parent can review their child's information, request that we delete it, and refuse further collection at any time by contacting us.
- We collect from children only the limited information reasonably necessary to participate in the app, and we do not condition participation on disclosing more than is needed.
7. EU families (GDPR-K)
For families in the European Economic Area and the UK, our legal basis for processing is the Parent's consent and the performance of our service to you. Optional emails rely on your consent alone, which you can withdraw at any time without affecting the rest of the Service. Parents may exercise rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection by contacting us at the address below. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
8. Data retention and deletion
We keep account information for as long as the account is active.
You can delete your account at any time, in the app (Settings → Delete this account) or on our delete-account page, which emails you a code to confirm the request. Deleting your account signs you out on every device and turns off all optional emails straight away. Removing a single child or job from your account works the same way.
Deleted data is kept for 30 days so an accidental deletion can be undone by contacting us. After 30 days it is permanently erased: your email address, password, username, children's profiles, balances, goals, jobs, and transaction history. What remains is anonymous usage data (for example, that the app was opened) that is no longer linked to an email address, name, or child. We keep it only to understand how Little Roots is used overall.
Purchases are handled by Apple or Google. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription; manage that in your App Store or Google Play account. Questions about deletion? Contact [email protected]. We may keep limited records where the law requires it.
9. How we protect information
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your family's information and to limit who can access it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify Parents through the app or by email.
